African-American Women Sought for Breast Cancer Study

Would you like to participate in a study to explore the question, “What is the African American woman’s experience of body image after treatment for breast cancer"?

Requirements for participation in this research:

  • Willingness to share your experience during a face-to-face interview that lasts approximately 2 hours.
  • You must be an African American female between the ages of 30-70 years old at diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer.
  • You must have received at least one of the following treatments: surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy.
  • You must be at least one year post-treatment.

This research is being conducted by La-Toya Gaines, PsyS LLP, a doctoral student attending the Michigan School of Professional Psychology in Farmington Hills, in pursuit of a doctoral degree in clinical and humanistic psychology. This research is supervised by Dr. Lee Bach, Program Director, at the Michigan School of Professional Psychology.
