Seven Oakland County sheriff’s deputies, including Christina Maher of Farmington Hills, graduated Dec. 14 from the Oakland Police Academy. 

The Academy is located on Oakland Community College’s Auburn Hills campus. Sponsored by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the graduates are part of its 103rd Basic Police Training class of 36 trainees.

Maher began working in the Sheriff’s Office in 2002 and is a Booking Supervisor and Corrections Training Officer. She holds an Associates Degree in Correctional Technology. Before joining the Sheriff’s Office, she was a full-time homemaker with four children and always dreamed of working in law enforcement.
