Farmington Hills Student Medals at U.S. Skating Championships
Brian Johnson, 17, of Farmington Hills and Aya Takai, 15, of Ann Arbor earned the Pewter Medal in the Novice Pairs event at the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships,
held Jan. 20-27 in Omaha, NE.
Despite having skated together only five and a half months, the pair competed against the top national skaters in their division and earned a place on the podium. Brian and Aya train at the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills, MI.
