Salvation Army Camp Offers Nutrition, Activities for Kids Ages 5-12
The Salvation Army Farmington Hills Corps Community Center is accepting applications for its Summer Day Camp. Summer day camp is open to children ages five to 12 and will be held weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Salvation Army Farmington Hills Corps Community Center, 27500 Shiawassee, from June 18 through Aug. 10.
The Salvation Army Farmington Hills Corps Community Center has partnered with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide nutritious meals and snacks to all participants of the summer day camp. The Summer Food Service Program ensures the children get the nutrition they need to learn, play and grow through the summer months.
Summer day camp programs focus on helping kids build self-esteem, avoid boredom and stay active during summer break. Daily activities at the camp include arts and crafts, music and drama, non-denominational Bible lessons, field trips, educational and community events and a variety of recreational and social activities.
