Student Roundtable Hosts Candidate Forum Oct. 17

The District's Student Round Table group is hosting a Board of Education Candidates' Forum, sponsored by the Farmington African American Parent Network (FAAPN), on Monday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m. at the North Farmington High auditorium.

The Forum is an opportunity for students and Board of Education candidates to have candid conversations about the Farmington Public Schools' learning community.
On Tuesday, November 8, voters will be asked to fill one seat for a four-year term through December 31, 2015, one seat for a partial term (four years) ending December 31, 2015, and two seats for six-year terms each through December 31, 2017.

Candidates for the one four-year term are Murray Kahn and David Sampson. George Gurrola is running unopposed for the four-year partial term. Five candidates are running for the two six-year terms, including incumbents, Karen Bolsen and Howard Wallach. In addition to the two incumbents Irving Ginsberg, Samuel Ramsey and Angie Smith are also running. There is no school for students on Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
