Village Green Raises $7,800 During Take Your Dog to Work Day

  • July 15, 2012

For the past 12 years, Village Green has celebrated Take Your Dog to Work Day (TYDTWDay®) in style. Throughout Village Green's corporate headquarters in Farmington Hills, and its regional offices in Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Chicago and St. Louis, staff paid a nominal fee to bring their furry friends to work for the day.

This year's event raised $7,800 for the Animal Placement Bureau, and brings Village Green's total raised for the organization to nearly $42,000.

The theme for the 12th Annual TYDTWDay celebration was "In the Outback", and the day included a pet parade, kangaroo (dog) jumping contest, lunch donated by Outback Steakhouse, raffle (with pet and human prizes) and the always successful online auction.

Christine Eluskie, software support specialist, Village Green, and coordinator of TYDTWDay, said, "The Animal Placement Bureau is a wonderful foster dog agency. The money we raised from the public during our online auction, and from the generous Village Green employees, goes toward paying the medical bills of dogs in foster care."

More than 36 dogs participated in the event this year, which is a long way from the 12 pets who participated during the event's first year in 2000.
