The last Family Fun in Riley Park concert for the summer happens tonight in downtown Farmington.
A popular concert series closes its season in downtown Farmington, signalling that summer is coming to an end. But you couldn't tell that by today's weather.
Here's what else you should know:
1. The weather
The National Weather Service predicts today will be sunny, with a high near 81 and a low tonight around 60 – another beautiful summer day.
2. Library undergoes tech upgrade
Today, the Farmington Community Library catalog, telephone renewal, self-checkouts, remote access to on-line databases and eBook downloads will not be available, due to server upgrades. Bring your library card to the Main Library or Farmington branch check out materials.
3. Family Fun in Riley Park - The Kerfuffles
The free family concert series, sponsored by the comes to an end today, with this performance at 7 p.m. at the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion & Riley Park in downtown Farmington. Learn more about The Kerfuffles, an Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti-based band, at thekerfuffles.com.
4. Look ahead: Community Forum on Focus Schools
Learn more about how the new "Focus School" designation affects you and your child's education during this presentation on Thursday, 7 p.m., at the district's Ten Mile Building, 32789 W. 10 Mile Rd. 5. Look ahead: Learn to Skate Classes
The Farmington Hills Ice Arena offers Learn To Skate classes, beginning Sept. 8, for ages 3 to adult. Classes teach basic and advanced techniques, and there are hockey skills classes as well.
