5 Things You Should Know Today - July 26, 2011

1. The weather

The National Weather Service is predicting mostly sunny skies today, with a high of 84 – and magnificent sleeping weather tonight, with a low around 60. Open those windows wide!

2. GLEE Camp deadline

If your child loves the hit television show GLEE, the deadline for this performance camp offered by the City of Farmington Hills, is July 29. It's an opportunity for individual singers, or groups/ensembles to work with professional artists Bruce Pooley, creator of The Next Stage, Brian Christian, Director of the Farmington Hills Youth Choir, and Tumija Banks, award-winning Harrison High dance instructor. 3. Musical Story Time

Join your friends at the Farmington Community Library Farmington branch for singing, dancing, finger plays and more during a free musical story time this morning at 10 a.m. While you're there, spend some time inside the big tree that's part of the children's section in the lower level. It's a great place to hide!

4. S.N.O.B. Networking

Not at all the way it sounds. The Entrepreneurs' Network of Michigan hosts Share Ideas and Networking Opportunities to Build Your Own Business – S.N.O.B. – Networking at Max & Erma's in Farmington Hills. ZaLonya Allen, PhD will share sales strategies and ways to grow your business. You must RSVP for the 11:30 a.m. meeting; call 888-489-8980. There's no charge; you buy your own lunch.

5. Classic Cars and Bayou River Band

Botsford Commons Senior Community's summer concert series continues tonight, with the music of the Bayou River Band and a cruise-in classic car show, starting at 5 p.m. Find them just off Folsom Rd. on Archwood Circle in Farmington Hills. This event is free of charge.
