Celebrate the 4th of July Holiday at the Market

Look for a chef's demo and other activities at Saturday's Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market.

Celebrate the long 4th of July holiday weekend with the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market, open Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion and Riley Park in downtown Farmington.

Potter’s Field, known for poetic, gritty lyrics, driving instrumental style and easy stage presence, will perform from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The band features acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, harmonica, typical and non-typical percussion elements and the occasional kazoo.

At 10 a.m., join the Fit Farmington one-mile walking tour through downtown Farmington, and at 11 a.m., settle back to watch a kids' Fourth of July Parade through the market, sponsored by Mayfair Co-Op Preschool. Also at that time, Chef Cliff Donovan of Grand Celebrations of Farmington will give a cooking demonstration.

Visit the Market Information tent to sign up for the weekly Market Basket drawings, and you can donate $20 to the Friends of the Market and receive a free jute market bag.

Is someone narrating the walking tour or is there a map?
