A Farmington Hills man facing charges in connection with a 2012 Cora St. home invasion is expected back in court on Feb. 5. 

Terry Lamont Mays, who was 19 at the time of his arrest last summer, is scheduled to face Sixth Circuit Court Judge Leo Bowman at a pretrial hearing, based on information posted on the Oakland County Court Explore website. Mays has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and home invasion, and two counts of possessing a firearm while committing a felony. 

According to Farmington Hills Police reports, Mays and another man were stopped by officers following a confrontation with a resident in her garage. The report indicated the woman found Mays standing in her garage, pointing a handgun at her head. He motioned for her to be quiet, and she quickly shut and locked the door, then ran to another room and called 911. 

After being stopped, the two men ran, prompting a search that involved Farmington Hills and Farmington Public Safety officers, assisted by an Oakland County Sheriff’s Department helicopter. Mays was caught; a second man was identified, but the Oakland County prosecutor's office declined to file charges, police said.
