Dagwood's Deli Voted Farmington Area's Best Lunch Spot

Downtown Farmington pub John Cowley & Sons takes second place in our week-long poll.

The votes are in, and Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch readers have spoken: The area's best lunch spot is Dagwood's Deli in downtown Farmington.

John Cowley & Sons, a two-story Irish pub and restaurant also in downtown Farmington, placed a close second in our poll, which opened Feb. 27 and closed at 9 a.m. today.

Dagwood's picked up fewer actual poll votes than John Cowley & Sons, but taking into account comments and reviews posted in our Places directory, the sandwich shop eked out a win.

Tracy Freeman noted that Dagwood's staff is helpful and friendly. "If you don't see exactly what you want on the menu they'll make it for you," she wrote. Patch reader KP favored "Blondie's own Rueben, best reason to come here", while Lynn singled out the vegetarian sub and chili.

With reviews and votes, Farmington and Farmington Hills readers showed support for a variety of local lunch spots. Tina's Coney Island, The Maple House, Bangkok Sala CafeBrass Pointe Food & Spirits, Village Grill, Mentobe Cafe, La Marsa, El Patio, L. George's, Tomatoes aPizza, Basement Burger BarDunleavy's Pub & GrubGinopolis RestaurantGrand Tavern, Hercules Coney Island, Luigi's Trattoria, Page's Food and SpiritsMayberry's Family Restaurant and Recipes Restaurant all received votes.
