Farmington Area Schools Closed Monday

Inclement weather gives local public and private school students a long weekend.

Farmington Public Schools will remain closed today, due to slippery roads caused by snow and sleet falling overnight.

Our Lady of Sorrows and St. Fabian schools are also closed, according to WXYZ-TV. A closing announcement was published on the Mercy High School Facebook page shortly after 6:30 a.m.

A National Weather Service advisory warns that light, freezing rain will continue to fall through sunrise. Roads are expected to remain treacherous until temperatures rise; today's high is expected to land at around 47 degrees.

Check with Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch's Commute page to find out how traffic moving along the roads you take to work.
