Farmington Students Invited to Empowermind Workshops

The sessions build study and memory skills and help students of all learning abilities.

The Farmington PTA Council and TAL (Together for Accelerated Learners) are presenting Empowermind workshops for children of all learning abilities, starting Jan. 14.

This multi-session workshop, taught by Kimberly Kassner, will include topics such as individual learning styles, study skills, memory skills, test taking, the emotional component to learning, stepping out of comfort zones, goal setting, self-empowerment and shifting negative attitudes to positive ones. The author of You’re a Genius and I Can Prove It!, Kassner offers Empowermind workshops across the country and has 20 years experience.

Extended Powermind Multi-day Workshop for 6th-12th graders

Jan. 14, 21, 28 and Feb. 4
6th-8th grade 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
9th-12th grade 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Fee: $58

Elementary Skills Mini-Empowermind Workshop for grades 3-6

Jan. 27, 1 p.m.-3 p.m. or 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. (Parents encouraged to attend with children)
Fee: $12
