Free Classes Train for Emergency Response, Severe Weather Tracking

The Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission hosts classes in March and April.

Farmington-area residents have opportunities to learn more about how respond in an emergency, and how to see one coming, in free classes offered in March and April.

The Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission (EPC) will present a free series of Emergency and Disaster Response Training sessions every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., March 13 to April 17 at the Costick Center in Farmington Hills. The program is open to adults and children 14 and older, accompanied by an adult. Find out what you'll learn during the 6-session training, and what you'll receive when you finish it, at fhgov.com

Learn to become a weather spotter during a free SKYWARN training program, also offered by the EPC, on April 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Costick Center. You'll learn how to identify and describe severe storms, to aid the National Weather Service in providing the public with more accurate information. Learn more at fhgov.com
