While pie may be one of America's favorite desserts, according to the American Pie Council, folks who frequent the Sunflour Bakehaus in downtown Farmington seem to have only a seasonal interest in it. Sunday is National Pie Day, but the bakery didn't stock up anticipating a big rush of pie revelers.

Co-owner Becky Burns said the bakery doesn't carry pies on a regular basis because there hasn't been a demand. The shop does offer small tarts in a variety of flavors. But its big seller is its cranberry pecan tart.

"These are a hit on the holidays," Burns said, adding that the bakery keeps a few on hand. "People still buy them out of the freezer."
