'House Crashers' Filming in Farmington

Cars line Glenview as the DIY Network show tackles a local house.

Several Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch readers alerted us to the commotion in a Farmington neighborhood this morning, as the DIY Network show House Crashers began work on a local home.

Cars lined up on the east end of Glenview Dr. at Shiawassee, where a crew is working. On-site producers referred questions to network representatives, but neighbors said about 30 people were on the site carrying lumber and other building supplies, along with film equipment, into the house this morning.

According to the House Crashers website, the show "is ambush renovation at its best. Host and contractor Josh Temple stalks a big-box home improvement store looking for unsuspecting weekend warriors, then follows them home with a large crew of experts in tow."

Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch has contacted show producers to learn more.

Last night, Farmington officials approved an event request for the HGTV show Cash & Cari to film on Wesley St. in Farmington Mar. 13-17, and last year, the HGTV show, House Hunters, featured a Farmington resident.
