Inaugural Burger Eating Contest Benefits Farmington Hills Youth Centers

Officials and volunteers from Farmington and Farmington Hills faced off Sunday at Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries for top honors in the first annual Burger Eating Contest.
Kal Farah, owner of the Farmington Hills restaurant said partnering with the City of Farmington Hills Special Services department for the contest was a wonderful opportunity to help the city's after school program.
City officials participating included Farmington Mayor Tom Buck and Farmington Hills Mayor Barry Brickner, Hills city council member Richard Lerner, Farmington city attorney Tom Schultz and Farmington Hills city attorney Steve Joppich participated, as did Farmington Hills Police Chief Chuck Nebus and Farmington Public Safety Director Robert Schulz.
The Farmington Hills after school program gives hundreds of kids ages 10-15 a place to do their homework and hang out in a safe environment, enjoying indoor and outdoor activities from the time school lets out until 5:30 p.m. Transportation is provided from school to one of six locations.
