Kenbrook Elementary School hosted Kids in the Kitchen, a health expo sponsored by the Junior League of Birmingham on Nov. 29.

Over one hundred families spent the evening making healthy snacks, creating a custom cookbook, and participating in activities like a jump rope station and yoga lesson from a Kiddie Yoga instructor.

After the children completed all the stations, they enjoyed a healthy snack and, as they left, the Junior League presented every child a jump rope and hard covered children’s recipe book. Principal Arnie Rubin called Kids in the Kitchen "a wonderful program" for children and their families.

“Thanks to the Junior League, Kenbrook children had a great evening to empower themselves, and make healthy life style choices,” said Rubin. “We are so fortunate that Kenbrook is one of three schools in Oakland County to have this opportunity.”
