A gluten-free menu that includes Salmon Tuscana and Roasted Corn & Black Bean Guacamole has earned Peterlin's Restaurant & Bar in Farmington the distinction of best Detroit gluten-free bar or pub, in an award given by gfreek.com. 

The North Carolina-based website also honored Buddy's Pizza, based in Farmington Hills, as best gluten-free local restaurant. 

According to the awards website, founders Josh and Jayme Schieffer created the awards to provide an unbiased source of information about the quality and taste of gluten-free products. The couple's son has celiac disease.
