Police Warn About Suspicious Bus Stop Incident in Farmington Hills
Incidents over the last week include an attempt to lure a child at a bus stop, and a man asking a resident about the color of her water.
Farmington Hills Police have, during the past week, received two reports of suspicious circumstances in neighborhoods on the east and west sides of the city.
On Tuesday, a heavy-set Black woman driving a white Econoline style van attempted to lure a child walking home from a bus stop after school in the Kenloch and Fox Club Drive area, near 13 Mile and Drake. The Nixle.com report requested that any suspicious activity near school bus drop off points should be reported to police at 248-871-2600.
Police responded Thursday to a call from a resident on Springfield Drive (east of Orchard Lake Road and north of 11 Mile) who said a man in his 30s knocked on her door and asked questions about the color of her water. According to the report, the man asked if her water was discolored, because "they" put dye in the water system. When the woman called the water department, she was told no one was working in her neighborhood.
The report indicated that the man was wearing a dark blue jacket, jeans and a black knit cap, and noted a larceny had happened earlier in the day with similar circumstances.
