Ready for Thanksgiving? 5 Area Stores that will be Open on Thanksgiving

Normally we do a countdown of activities to help you plan for your next weekend's adventures, but with Thanksgiving just ahead, we thought we'd help you scope out ways to celebrate the holiday close to home.

This year some retail stores have decided to open earlier than the wee hours of Black Friday. These stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day.
- Old Navy 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. You can check out their specials here.
- Gap 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- K-Mart 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. You can check out some of their specials here.
- Dollar General 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS While these drug stores are open limited hours on Thanksgiving Day, most pharmacies are closed. Call ahead before venturing out.
To jump start Black Friday sales, Target, Kohl's and Best Buy will open at 12 a.m.
In case you want to see a movie, the Farmington Civic Theater will be open on Thanksgiving. The Help will play at 6:30 p.m., Contagion at 7 p.m., Colombiana at 9:05 p.m., and Sarah's Key at 9:15 p.m. Dipson West River Centre is open on Thanksgiving Day, starting at 11:25 a.m. with Arthur Christmas.
