Restaurants, Theaters and More Open Christmas Day
Some places will be open special hours, others are open all day long.

Not every business closes Christmas Day. If you're looking for a quick meal out or need to purchase a few last-minute items for a holiday dinner, or even a small gift, here's a list of places you can go:
1. La Marsa: This Middle Eastern restaurant opens at 11 a.m. for dining in or take-out orders.
2. New Mandarin Garden: Small groups are first-come, first-served at this Chinese restaurant, from noon to 9:30 p.m. It's a good idea to make reservations if you're bringing the whole family. New Mandarin Garden is at 31539 W 13 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills.
3. House of Ing: Located in the Halsted Village shopping center at 12 Mile and Halsted roads, House of Ing is open from noon to 11 p.m. Its menu of Chinese cuisine includes organic and vegetarian options.
4. 7-Eleven stores: These convenience stores stock a selection of sundries and basic grocery items, as well as baked goods and snacks. The chain has four Farmington Hills locations; all but one will be open through the holiday: 22069 Farmington Rd. (24 hours), (29413 W 12 Mile Rd. (closed midnight Christmas Eve, open 12:01 a.m. Dec. 26); 22323 Middlebelt Rd. (24 hours) and 29318 Orchard Lake Rd. (24 hours)
5. Farmington Civic Theater: Show times start at 4:20 p.m. with "Secretariat," "Life as We Know It" at 4:30 p.m., and "Red" at 6:45 p.m. For information, visit the theater's web site, thefct.com
6. West River Centre Theater: Catch up on first-run movies at this nine-screen theater, with 3-D technology. Visit the theater's web site for their list of first-run movies and showtimes, which start at 10:45 a.m.
7. Ram's Horn: The Farmington restaurant, 32435 Grand River, is open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. The Farmington Hills restaurant at 30005 Orchard Lake Rd. is open from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
8. While the pharmacy is closed, CVS drug stores are open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Christmas Day. The stores stock basic grocery items, over the counter medications, toys, books and gift items, including a selection of gift cards. There are five locations in this area: 23391 Farmington Rd., Farmington; 37700 West 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills; 27660 Middlebelt Rd., Farmington Hills; 29425 Orchard Lake Rd., Farmington Hills; and 22250 Middlebelt Rd., Farmington Hills.
