Condo living means no yard work, so consider adding these to your new-home shopping list.
The warmer weather that started to arrive this month is slowly but surely revealing our lawns and gardens. Some can't wait to get down in the dirt and reclaim their gardens. But for others, the thought of pushing a lawn mower, spreading mulch and digging out weeds every weekend is disheartening to say the least.
For the "I hate yard work" type of person, we found five condos and townhouses in Farmington Hills, West Bloomfield and Birmingham that offer a spacious and sophisticated lifestyle, similar to what you'd enjoy in a single-family home, only someone else cuts the grass and edges the gardens.
In Farmington Hills, we found condos that not only are near shopping and entertainment but are also in wooded areas with mature trees and landscaping.

Just remember, condo living isn't for everyone. The "down" side includes sharing walls (and noise) with other owners, paying monthly association fees and having to adhere to the condominium association's rules and restrictions.
So if you decide a condo is for you, what will you do with all that extra weekend time? Most condominium developments have recreational facilities in the common areas. Your ownership generally means access to a swimming pool, gym or tennis court—whatever amenities are within the condo complex.
