The City of Farmington Hills kicked off the holiday season with its 20th Annual Holiday Lights ceremony on Tuesday evening. Children helped Mayor Barry Brickner and Miss Farmington Elena Pavlicas throw the switch on a 20-foot candle and lights all around the municipal campus at 11 Mile and Orchard Lake Roads.

After the ceremony, families flocked into Fire Station No. 5, where the Farmington Hills Youth Choir, directed by Dennis Ryans II, lifted everyone's spirits by singing holiday favorites such as "Frosty the Snowman," "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," and "Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer." Santa arrived and listened to children's Christmas wishes.
