Come dressed in your finest Academy Awards attire for this event at the Farmington Civic Theater.
Tickets are still available for the Farmington Community Library Red Carpet Event, held Feb. 10 at the Farmington Civic Theater.
The local showing of Academy Award-nominated short films officially kicks off "I Geek the Library," a year-long initiative designed to raise awareness about the library and what it brings to the community. The word "geek" is used as a verb, meaning:
- To love, to enjoy, to celebrate, to have an intense passion for.
- To express interest in.
- To possess a large amount of knowledge in.
- To promote.
Seating is limited, and tickets are $15 a person and $25 a couple, available at the Main Library and Farmington branch. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. at Mike Greer Photography, where hors d'oeuvres will be served, followed by a showing of the Oscar-nominated short films at 7:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will beneft the Friends of the Library, which provides funds for books, technology, programs and other library needs.
