Son, Friend Charged in Cipriano Family Attack Face Hearing Today

Tucker Cipriano and Mitchell Young will appear in 47th District Court, as Rose and Salvatore Cipriano recover and community fundraisers are planned.

A day after a news report that his mother is "doing fabulous", 19-year-old Tucker Cipriano faces another court date. 

At 2 p.m. today, he and 20-year-old Mitchell Young will be in Judge Marla Parker's courtroom in Farmington Hills for a preliminary examination on felony charges filed after , 52, and assaults that left his mother, Rose, and 17-year-old brother, Salvatore, with critical injuries. 

On Tuesday, MLive.com reported that an event held Saturday in Bay City, Rose Cipriano's hometown, raised about $10,000 for the family. At the event, Beth Trahan said her sister, who was earlier this month from , is walking and talking. According to a Facebook support page, Salvatore remains at , but is making progress.

While the injured Ciprianos recover, son Tanner and daughter Isabella remain with other family members.

June 8, 6:30 p.m., - Participants leave from the YMCA parking lot and can either walk or run through the scenic community course. Read more about how to register for this event. 

An evening for Isabella

June 7, 6 p.m., Regency Manor, 25228 W. 12 Mile Rd., Southfield - Mass and dinner will raise funds to support the Catholic education of Isabella Cipriano through 8th grade. Minimum donation is $125 per person. The invitation, posted on the Catholic Central website, must be returned to the by June 1. (Isabella has been a student at St. Fabian Catholic School.)

Mark Quay Invitational golf tournament

June 22, Salem Hills Golf Course, Northville - Organizers of this annual event have made it a benefit for the Cipriano family. Cost to golf is $100 or $30 to attend only the barbecue dinner. Bob Quay is also collecting donated raffle items; prizes include a car from  for a hole-in-one and a case of wine that will be raffled off. To contribute or participate, contact Quay at 248-756-0779 or rfquay@yahoo.com.
