Do you know a Farmington-area public or private school administrator, teacher, support staffer or student who has an interesting story or deserves an extra pat on the back? Send details in the format below to farmington-mi@patch.com

Meet this week's honorees:

Name: Farmington Community Library Teen Advisory Board

School: Members come from schools throughout the community

Here's why they're cool: These teens come from all around the community to volunteer with the library. They review books, volunteer at events like Battle of the Books and help spread the word about library programs to their classmates, friends and neighbors. Librarians also consult with the group about programs.

Brooke Shepard, 16, said she joined the group because it "seemed like a good way to get involved in the library and the community."

The Teen Advisory Board meets next in May and is open to 7th through 12th graders. Plus, they serve great snacks. Learn more at farmlibteens.org
