Trunk-or-Treat in Farmington Hills Benefits Neighborhood House
Girl Scouts at Lanigan Elementary collect items Tuesday for Neighborhood House.
The trunks were open at Lanigan Elementary School Tuesday night as Girl Scouts from Lanigan Elementary, along with the 5th and 6th grade troops that have moved up to Power Upper Elementary enjoyed a night of "Trunk-or-Treating for a Cause".
Decorated mini-vans were lined up in the Lanigan parking lot, as girls went trick-or-treating from vehicle to vehicle, while also attempting to fill a mini-van (or more) with items needed for Neighborhood House, an organization that operates a food shelf and provides other services for needy families in Farmington and Farmington Hills.
The event was held in honor of "Make a Difference Day" Oct. 22, as well as the memory of Girl Scouts founder, Juliette Gordon Low, born Oct. 31, 1860.

Thank You, Thank You to the scouts from Power and Lanigan for all the food, paper products and hygiene products you collected. I was blown away by the amount of the donation that was delivered to Neighborhood House Wednesday morning. They were just the things that are requested by our clients. Food has been the one request that I get most often. The Farmington/Farmington Hills families always come through. Bless you all for the generosity in your hearts. Loretta, it was our pleasure to work with you to add needed supplies to the pantries at Neighborhood House. I (finally) just added my photos from the delivery morning. See #8- a great picture of you and Maddi!
