Clear out your closet of gently worn or never worn shoes to help Backdoor Friends help cats like this one find a home. The shoes go to people who need them, and the Cat Rescue gets paid for every pound. Drop off during store hours: Monday - Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Thinking about adopting a furry friend? Saturday's market features an Adopt-a-Pet event. Plaza Veterinary Hospital will be hosting an informational tent, and you can donate dog food, cat food, kitty litter, toys, blankets, and bones at the market information booth. Singer/songwriter Chris McCall performs 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Sunny Day Care and Montessori manages the Little Sprouts corner; and at 11 a.m., Champps Americana will be Cookin' at the Market.

We may have some showers today, but the rest of the weekend looks sunny and perfect for the outdoor activities on our events calendar.
