Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

What's Your New Year's Resolution, Farmington and Farmington Hills?

Lose weight, save money, pry yourself away from your iPad—tell us what you hope to accomplish in 2013.

The most popular New Year's resolutions aren't hard to guess: get in shape, save money, quit smoking, give more.

According to the University of Scranton Journal of Clinical Psychology, the top resolution for 2012 was (drumroll, please) losing weight.

But while the coming year's biggest goals might be slightly different from person to person, the challenge is the same—sticking to them beyond Jan. 1.

So do yourself a favor and commit to it right here, right now on Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch. Post a comment with your resolution for 2013—whether its dropping extra pounds or giving more of your time to charity—in hopes that some friendly encouragement from your neighbors will help you achieve it.

Even better: Keep track of your progress by blogging about it on Patch.

Happy new year from all of us at Patch, and good luck in making 2013 all you hope it will be.

My resolution for 2013 is to encourage everyone across the country to "Join The National Effort to Make March 13th of Every Year K-9 Veterans' Day."

As a parent of a child with special needs, I resolve that this year, no matter what setting, when I hear someone use the R word, I will very nicely ask them to please not use it and hope to change the language one person at a time.

I plan to grow more of my own food. Changing how I do things at the Chesley St. Community Garden and in the limited full sun areas around my home!
