When Do Your Holiday Decorations Go Up?

Day after Thanksgiving? Day after Halloween? How soon is too soon to decorate for the holidays?

As Michigan shoppers headed to the store for Halloween candy in October, they were met with a now-familar sight: holiday decorations.

Christmas trees, lights, blow-up Menorahs and manger scenes line the aisles already at Home Depot, Target, Walmart and other stores in and around Farmington and Farmington Hills.

So when it comes to your holiday decorations, how soon do you start?

Whether your tree goes up while the jack-o-lanterns are still on the porch; or if you stick to the nothing-until-after-Thanksgiving rule, tell us: When will you decorate for the holidays?

The week before Thanksgiving, everything except the tree. I leave town for Thanksgiving so, when I get home the only thing I have to do is put up the tree.

We usually start before Thanksgiving, but the tree doesn't go up until Thanksgiving weekend.
