When Should Holiday Music Start Playing? Take Our Poll

Patch asks when Christmas jingles jive with you – and which songs are your favorites.

In Detroit, Fresh 100.3 started playing Christmas music Friday morning, Today's 105.1 started even earlier this month, and other local radio stations will soon also dust off their holiday records in preparation for seasonal Yuletide spinning.

In Farmington and Farmington Hills, some area businesses and coffee shops are also already playing holiday music. But is it too early for "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" if Tom the Turkey hasn't even been stuffed?

When should Christmas and holiday music start playing on the radio and in stores? Take our poll and tell us your favorite holiday song in the comments!

Correction: The name of radio station 105.1 was incorrectly reported in the original version of this article.

Laurel Park Place in Livonia started with 100% holiday music with the arrival of Santa on Friday. Too soon in my opinion. Lets concentrate on celebrating Thanksgiving first.

But it should play through New Years day. However, I don't really care because I listen to my own Christmas music most of the time. These stations play 30 songs or so over and over and never change them up. They do this so they do not have to pay to have DJ's on staff. They lay them off or forced vacation I do not know which.
