Will You Buy a New $1 Reusable Plastic Cup at Starbucks? Take Our Poll
The coffee company will begin offering the cups at stores in Farmington and Farmington Hills on Thursday.
Starbucks lovers will have a new way to sip their favorite beverages today, as the coffee company starts offering resuable plastic cups for $1.
According to a Jan. 2 report in the Detroit Free Press, the company aims to reduce the amount of waste produced by its paper and plastic cups. The reusable cups, which are white and bear the company logo, also qualify customers for a 10-cent discount the company already offers.
To counter concerns about cross-contamination, Starbucks will clean the cups with boiling water before each new use, the Free Press reported.
Will you purchase one of the new reusable cups at either the Farmington or Farmington Hills Starbucks? Take our poll, and let us know what you think with a comment.

I'm down. I think this is a great idea, and after 10 uses, it pays for itself. So long as it's BPA free...

I'm all for reusable cups & I bring my own cup to work, to meetings, & to coffee shops. I congratulate Starbucks for their initiative!!! However, a 10 cent discount is RIDICULOUSLY LOW! It should be at least a 25 cents discount, to give their customers an incentive to remember their cups. Many places charge only $1 for coffee in my reusable cup. At work it is now only 50 cents if you bring your own cup. For the prices they charge, STAR BUCKS can be a bit more generous with this offer.
