At first I thought partnering with civic groups in the community to raise money for their organization, the Farmington Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families and Camp Riley made me feel good. Then I got to actually hang out with Mama Duck, watching her read to kids and have their photos taken with her and I thought that made me feel good. Then I walked in the Founder's Festival Parade with more children and Mama Duck selling tickets along the route and that made me feel good. The day of the race, jamming to the School of Rock, eating Hudsonville ice cream and racing ducks made me feel REALLY good. How does it get better than this right? New job, surrounded by kids, ice cream, mascots, music and volunteers all in one place with no rain and everyone's having a good time.
Well get this, try calling 10 unsuspecting people and having to tell them that out of 3000 ducks in the water.... that their duck WON!!! Now THAT felt dang good. The responses were candid and priceless. Making it for me, a good day at the office.

Tough to "get out there" kudos to those that do on a regular basis.
