Cheryl - I offer the lastest "ruling" the President has made as an example. It has nowRead More become widely known, that even leaders within his administration disagreed with his unilateral decision, begging him to give congress an opportunity to speak. It is now referred to by the press, left and right, as the contraception controversy. No need for explanation, it has been hashed and rehashed enough. Thank you for your interest and persistent challenges. I have learned a lot about writing because of it. Thanks!

Here's the issue, our "rights" according to our founding documents are granted to us by aRead More higher authority, and not by government. This is constantly be eroded by our elected officials, our courts who no longer uphold the Constitution, and the progressives who believe that it is government who grants us whatever "rights" it deems appropriate. In other words, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are, unfortunately, no longer the order of the day, no matter where it may be granted from. And religious liberty is now an oxymoron.

And people of the Jewish faith celebrate Hanukah, the Festival of Light. The tiny drop of oil inRead More the lamp in the Temple burned for 8 days and nights, when it was only expected to last for one. A Menorah consists of 9 candles because one of the candles, called the shamos, is used to light the other 8 candles. On the first night, only one candle is lit. On each successive night, an additional candle is lit until the 8 days are over. Contrary to some beliefs, at least the way I was raised, just a few presents are shared the first night. There is no overwhelming pile of presents. There are certain traditional foods, as there are on each Jewish holiday, such as Matzoh- unleavened bread---a flat plain cracker-like square bread. One of them is hidden by adults on the first night, so that the children can go on a treasure hunt trying to find it. It is called the Afikomen. There is a spinning top that is played with which is called a Dreidel. On each of its 4 sides there is a Hebrew letter. The letters stand for the beginning letter of the Hebrew words for a Great Miracle Happened Here. This is just a small introduction to the holiday of Hanukah.

Pam Thanks for your response. It's fun seeing things from the positive side. Our world says,Read More "seeing is believing" but God's perspective is "believing is seeing." When you walk in faith, you can see everything God wants you to see. PTL!

Frank and Cathy: A little harsh don't you think? Especially when neither of you, apparantly,Read More attended The Call Detroit. The old-timers used to say, "the proof is in the pudding." Or, the proof is in the results or...the consequences. Sorry you weren't there to experience the immense love for God, our great City, for individuals and groups in the City and the State to experience the fulfillment of their personal and corporate hopes that will have a resounding effect on the return to prosperity we used to know here in the Detroit area. Misinformation and Misinterpretation often lead to negative responses. Positive responses, notRead More necessarily from those who agree, come from honest open-hearted reseach. One will always come to an uninformed conclusion when they begin with a premise that knows the conclusion they intend to prove. Paul Bersche
