Mr. Ritenour, Why in the world can you call these people "inmates running the asylum",Read Morebe cause you disagree? You, yourself have posted your own bias opinion on here numerous times. Why would you have such a problem with people expressing themselves in this country? My personal opinion is, I thought Joni-Hubred-Golden did a great job of letting them run the asylum with their thoughts. The Patch has become such a part of large conglomerate that I doubt it has time to address individual problems and rightfully it should not unless the writings are of such a derogatory nature that they deserve such action. The absolute best advice you can receive on this is to stop reading it if you find it so disgusting. Point is, it's for the local news and "town square" thoughts and even for those whose only purpose seems to be -negative thoughts. Please post your own op-ed so we all can share in your particular point of view. If you do not have one then let it go.We anxiously await you op-ed.

Art, don't go off on a rant when you apparently didn't read and/or understand what I wrote. I didRead Moren ot criticize Mr. York's writings, which should be debated and discussed. My criticism was directed to Patch for posting his opinions as "news" when clearly they are not. The term "inmates running the asylum" is an old metaphor intended to highlight the fact that bloggers and others whose personal views or criticisms belong in the comments or blog sections now, apparently, have free rein to present their opinions as news. That violates all rules of journalism and shows the low estate to which Patch has fallen. Joni would never have allowed such to happen; Mr. York's piece(s) would have appeared as a blog or comments. As to myself, my opinions and comments will appear in the comments section like this one, in a blog, or in a clearly-labeled Editorial, as they always have.

Actually Mr.Ritenour I believe Mr. Yorks comments are quite appropriately placed under the BoardRead Moresec tion "Speak Out" that is specifically designated for community comments that someone deems important enough to spend their time delving into. Joni is gone and therefore so is any real Farmington news or moderation. Mr. York is board experienced, well informed and obviously willing to do his research. Maybe I will meet him someday but until then I applaud his dedication to my towns children.

Thank you Mr. Anderson. Unfortunate that this video is true. We have left today with 3 problems: 1. Read MoreJohn Boehner has no guts 2. Harry Reid has no sense 3. President Obama has no clue. And one wonders why we are in this state of disaster.

Once again Mr/Ms Brown you have left the comparative issues of Ms. Bolson's profanity and Mr.Read MoreSharp' s absences unanswered for all of the opinions you feel compelled to share. If you feel so passionately about these issues and have such wisdom regarding board process procedure and protocol, speak up publically so the community knows who stands behind all of this insight you share. I have been actively involved with FPS for the past 25+ years and have more 1st hand bad experiences than I will ever feel compelled to share. I don't know who you are and really don't care what you think of me, sorry. Although your history of knowing far more detailed district information and your desire to out other names in addition to mine seems way beyond grandparental interest and a much closer relationship to the board. I shall not take your bait tonight. In this very free country I am entitled to my opinions just as you are. Perhaps you might take a play from your own book and realize that hiding behind "Max Brown" and not speaking publically is actually quite cowardly. Have a lovely evening.

"Sharon" while you post another disjointed comment avoiding the issue of your frightening Read Moreundertones regarding Ms. Reaves, your bringing up of the past does not distract from YOUR points about being a "tax paying citizen" to be a candidate. Remember, YOU raised that issue, now you have ignored your own subject matter when I challenged you and asked you pointed questions. Your avoidance is blinding, your motives clear. Your anger towards her (do you even know her?) and your trying to bring her down because she may not be a" tax paying citizen" is obvious. The recent banter with you has been admittedly a bit amusing, but your current underlying subtle implications with regard to a candidate has brought an element of seriousness to the table. It is clear your ignoring of the questions regarding your "tax paying citizen" requirement only confirms mine and others suspicions. No response on the issue? Your silence is deafening. I, for one, will watch the interviews and observe the merits of each person, their involvement in the community and what they can bring to the panel. Their home ownership or lack thereof will not effect my opinion. We will see what questions the Board sees fit to ask, won't we? You bring up a Board member who resigned many years ago, yet made a comment in your earlier post about "moving on" as the bond is over. Hypocrisy at its finest. If memory serves me correctly, Mr. Sharp resigned as he was unable to attend Board meetings and other activities due to job related issues. Possibly for the same reasons, your acquaintance Murray Kahn should follow his lead. As far as Ms. Bolson, please provide the link where you say she swore on air, as I cannot find it and I have looked. When I view what you have provided, if it is as you say, I will acknowledge its inappropriateness. For the record, I am MR. Max Brown, a long standing community member. Before I was a grandparent, I was an active involved FPS parent along with my wife Helen. Your questioning of who I am because you don't see me at public comment is not only ludicrous, it goes to prove how some inflated egos at the microphone believe they yield more importance than other community members who choose not to speak, but voice their opinions through other provided forums. Attending informational meetings and observing meetings is my way of being informed. I have missed your attendance at informational forums the district provides. It's ironic, when anonymous posters on this sight agree with you, you compliment them. When someone calls you out and asks you pointed questions while challenging some of your destructive comments you simply question who THEY are. How contradictory, yet telling. Someday when you are a grandparent I hope someone questions your motives for being involved in those children's lives. Tragic notion, and a sad one. How about trying to be part of a solution in this community? How about not criticizing a candidate before her name was even made public? Your intimidation tactics of anyone who is brave enough to throw their name in the hat for public service is disgraceful, your motives clear. You have a nice day "Sharon."
Sharon February 24, 2014 at 08:52 PM
Wow again Mr. Brown. Since you actually know nothing about me and have never met me you obviouslyRead Moreha ve some really unresolved anger issues to deal with that have nothing to do with me so good luck with that. Now that the powers that be have released the list I have changed my bet on the appointment, pretty sure I can guess this one but we will see if it is as clear to everyone else. I am done with your rants!
