'Tis the season for giving the perfect gift. One perfect gift costs no money and requires only about an hour of your time---a blood donation. Your donated blood could save up three lives. A gift could not be more perfect!


Blood donations will be accepted between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 21 in the Community Room located in Botsford Hospital's Administration & Education Center, 28050 Grand River Ave., Farmington Hills. Donors are urged to visit www.givelife.org and enter "Botsford" as the sponsor code to register for this blood drive. Founded in Detroit in 1944 as Zieger Osteopathic Hospital, Botsford General Hospital serves residents in southern Oakland County and western Wayne County. The 330-bed facility is also a certified trauma center and is certified as an environmentally friendly cancer center. In addition to the main campus, which includes the hospital, Botsford has a number of facilities and offices in and around the community. Botsford records more than 17,000 in-patient admissions and 59,391 emergency room visits annually, served by a staff of 641 highly qualified medical professionals. Botsford has a total staff of 2,473, making it the largest employer in Farmington Hills. The hospital is a teaching site for Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine.
