Injuries and medical emergencies happen without warning -- do you know how to respond?

The Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission (EPC) sponsors this First Aid Awareness Class, which will help you prepare for a medical emergency by providing a demonstration of what to do until first responders arrive or the victim can be transported. The class does not provide certification.

Participants will rotate through one station every 15 minutes, with each subject taught by a first responder or first aid instructor. First aid subjects will include:

  • 9-1-1 Dispatch System

  • CPR

  • Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

  • Choking

  • Bleeding Control

  • Burn Treatment

  • Splinting

To register, call the Costick Center at 248-473-1800. For more information, contact EPC Vice Chair Tim Tutak at 248-417-0930 or tutakt@live.com
