The Farmington Hills Nature Center is hosting a special Thanksgiving for Nature event.
The event will feature self-guided scavenger hunts through the trails of Heritage Park. Participants will receive a list of clues and directions that will help them on their quest to find reasons to be thankful for all of nature’s gifts. Those who complete the scavenger hunt will be eligible for a Thanksgiving prize. In addition, special guest Genot “Winter Elk” Picor will lead Native American games, songs, and storytelling from 1 to 4 p.m. Kids can even make a nature craft to take home!
Thanksgiving for Nature is open to all ages. The fee is $5 per person with kids five and under free. The Nature Center is located within Heritage Park at 24915 Farmington Road, between 10 and 11 Mile Roads.

City of Farmington Hills Nature Discovery Center
The 2,323-square-foot Nature Discovery Center houses a variety of exhibits showcasing the flora and fauna common to Heritage Park and the Farmington Hills area. A large diorama provides an up-close look at local trees, plants and wildlife. Educational aspects of the center include hands-on displays, an interactive weather station, computer microscope and a nature library.
