Michigan School of Professional Psychology (MiSPP)announces The MiSPP 2013 Better Living Series: Don't Let Stress Get You Down

Transforming Stress Into Power
Presented by Aaron Goldner, PsyD, LP and Kate Caddy, MA

Stress. We all experience it. There has been a lot of talk about the ill effects of stress, both psychologically and physically, but what do we really know about it? Is there some news about stress that we often overlook? Perhaps some good news about transforming stress into power?

Lets explore the tools to aid you in transforming your personal experience of stress into power.

We will discuss ideas to help you manage the standard stress experience:

  • Feeling overwhelmed,
  • Trying to figure out why/what is making you feel that way,
  • Getting ahold of your emotions and then
  • Charting your way through the situations and stress
  • And much more on stress.

This is the first in a series on Stress, every Thursday in January at the Farmington Hills Community Library, from 7-8:30pm.

Join us and learn:

  • What is stress?
  • Why/when is stress helpful versus harmful.
  • How to notice when you are stressed?
  • Techniques for managing it.
  • Problem solving t
  • How to feel and act in ways that are powerful once your stress has been put aside.
