EmploymentGroup Launches "5 in 5" Scholarship Program for Community College Students

EmploymentGroup, a solutions-oriented staffing and outsourced services firm, today announced the launch of its “5 in 5” scholarship program.  The new initiative is designed to mark the Company’s 55th anniversary as a leading regional provider of business staffing solutions and help equip Michigan-based community college students to enter the workforce with the skills and resources they need to succeed.

For each of the next five years, beginning with the current academic year, three winning students will be named recipients of “5 in 5” scholarships totaling $5,000.  In applying for – and ultimately using the funds – students will be encouraged to consider creative ways to enhance their ability to make an effective impact in today’s workplace.

The Company will select each year’s winners based on an essay submission, teacher and community recommendations, and overall student academic achievement.  Students will be encouraged to tie their essay submissions to EmploymentGroup’s mission of “helping people succeed,” explaining how their future plans include both their own professional growth and helping others succeed.

"EmploymentGroup has always viewed Michigan’s students as one of the state’s most vital resources, and we are committed to making a difference in their lives so they can make an important difference in their chosen fields and professions," said Mark Lancaster, CEO of EmploymentGroup. "Through ‘5 in 5,’ we are also highlighting the role EmploymentGroup and the staffing industry play in our regional economy, particularly as a career development resource. This is a win-win for both Michigan community college students and EmploymentGroup as we celebrate 55 years of growth as a key partner to regional businesses.”

Students enrolled at a Michigan-based community college who have successfully completed 30 hours of schooling are invited to enter the ‘’5 in 5” contest at: www.employmentgroup.com/5in5 or at www.facebook.com/employmentgroup. The contest is now open and applications for the 2013-14 academic year can be submitted through Dec. 31, 2013.
