Farmington Resident Awarded the 2014 School District Award from the Multi-Cultural Multi-Racial Community Council

Sheilah P. Clay, NSO President and CEO, was recently awarded the 2014 School District Award from the Multi-Cultural Multi-Racial Community Council.  The award was given as a result of her founding the Farmington African American Parent Network to help close the academic achievement and opportunity gap.  The network is focused on increasing the district engagement, involvement, resources, and partnerships of parents to ensure the success of African American students.   The second reason for the award was the development of permanent supportive housing at the NSO Bell Building for homeless adults in Detroit, Michigan.
