“This is a wonderful opportunity for our Disparities and Cardiac Health (DACH) Program to connect with the Southwest Detroit community,” said Director of Ambulatory Quality Improvement Angela Vanker, MPH, MPRO. “We want to encourage people to live healthier lives and to educate communities on the dangers of high blood pressure and the associated risk for heart attack and stroke. This health fair is just one of the many free resources we have for the public.”

MPRO also provides a free heart health hotline where people can call to get information sent to their home. That number is 1-888-323-7279. The non-profit also just launched a website called Blood Pressure Health and You  www.bloodpressurehealthandyou.org.

The free health fair is possible thanks to MPRO, the Ford Resource and Engagement Center, the Detroit MOTTEP Foundation and Enhance Fitness®. The event is open to the public and no pre-registration is required.
