The Harrison Varsity Baseball Team opened the Oakland Activities Association season with a 4-3 victory, defeating the Lakers of West Bloomfield, Monday, April 14th at Harrison Field.
The Hawks scored their 4 runs in the second inning on a single by Steve Marowski, a double by Pat Williams, a Jevon Shaw sacrifice fly and a two-out double by Danny Sanders.
Harrison starting pitcher Trevor Friday got into a few jams, but with the help of team defence, managed to keep the Lakers off the scoreboard until the sixth inning. A couple of errors, and a few singles found the Lakers on the scoreboard trailing by one.
The Lakers failed to find a way to cross the plate in the seventh giving the Hawks the victory.
