Livonia Montessori School Accepting Applications for Themed Summer Camp

Livonia Montessori School is currently accepting applications for children ages three through six to attend a themed summer camp program.  Located on the school’s campus at 31840 W. Seven Mile Road in Livonia, the summer camp program is especially designed to give young children an experience that is nurturing, creative, intellectually stimulating and lots of fun.

Summer camp is led by highly qualified, Montessori-certified teachers and is especially designed to meet the developmental needs of young children.

Each week campers explore a different theme with related art projects and physical activities.  Children participate in arts and crafts, in-house presentations, science experiments, dramatic play, cooking, picnics, outdoor time, music, stories and games related to the week’s theme.

Full and half-day programs are available for nine weeks of the summer session.  Day camp meets from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m., Monday through Friday.  Extended hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. are available as needed for day campers.  Children must be enrolled in day camp for a minimum of three weeks.

For children who will begin Montessori classes for the first time in September, the school offers a “Montessori Matters” introductory class during the week of August 11, introducing them to basic materials and routines to smooth the way for the start of school.

For additional information about Livonia Montessori’s summer camp program and weekly themes, visit the school’s website at www.livoniamontessori.org or call 248-474-4764.  Early enrollment is recommended to ensure availability.

Now in its 42nd year, Livonia Montessori School is a non-profit educational community affiliated with the American Montessori Society, Michigan Montessori Society, and the Association of Independent Michigan Schools. Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Livonia Montessori School is licensed by the Michigan Department of Human Services.  More information is available at www.livoniamontessori.org.
