Parents of young children are encouraged to attend Livonia Montessori School’s fall Open House from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Following the open house, there will be an informative and entertaining one hour presentation beginning at 7 p.m. on “Three Effective Parenting Tips.”
Admission is free to both the open house and workshop. Complimentary child care will be available. The school is located at 31840 West Seven Mile, west of Merriman Road in Livonia.
During the open house, parents and other family members are invited to tour classrooms and talk with teachers and staff about Montessori programs. Livonia Montessori School offers authentic Montessori preschool and kindergarten programs that are specially designed for children in this age group. Both half day and full day programs are available, along with before and after school care as needed.
At the 7 p.m. workshop, parents will be introduced to the Parent Talk System developed by internationally renowned educator, author, and speaker Chick Moorman. Montessori teachers Heidi Gauger and Susan Fitzpatrick, who are experienced Parent Talk System facilitators, will present effective parenting strategies that can be immediately implemented.
This year marks the school’s 41st anniversary and second year at its new location in a beautifully renovated building. Classrooms are equipped with indoor furnishings to meet the needs of young children along with access to a secure, outdoor playground.
Livonia Montessori School provides an individualized learning environment for
preschool and kindergarten based on the Montessori method. Respect for children, a strong commitment to non-violence, and a deep belief in the value of education are all principles upon which the school functions.
