Families interested in learning more about authentic Montessori preschool and kindergarten programs are encouraged to attend an Open House at Livonia Montessori School from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014.  Located at 31840 West Seven Mile in Livonia, the school offers both half day and full day programs, along with before and after school care as needed.

Teachers and staff will be available at the Open House to give tours and answer questions.  Children are welcome, and refreshments will be provided.

Livonia Montessori School provides an individualized learning environment for preschool and kindergarten based on the Montessori method.  Respect for children, a strong commitment to non-violence, and a deep belief in the value of education are all principles upon which the school functions.

“Our students are active learners, inspired by creative teaching and hands-on, multi-sensory Montessori materials,” said Patty Porta, the school’s administrator. “Even the youngest children learn to concentrate as they explore concepts and make discoveries.”

Livonia Montessori School also offers a nine-week summer camp, which begins June 16, for children ages 3 through 6. Each week campers explore a different theme with related art projects, in-house presenters and much more.  The camp is led by highly qualified Montessori-certified teachers.
