Walk for Suicide Awareness at Kensington Metropark

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) will hold an “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk, starting at the East Boat Launch.

In the United States, a person dies by suicide every 15 minutes, claiming more than 36,000 lives each year. Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. among adults 18 to 65 and the second leading cause of death among teens and young adults.

The AFSP is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide. A contribution to the AFSP helps to fund research, education, advocacy, and survivor programs.
