Farmington Hills After School Program Needs Help in Facebook Drive

From Friday through Sunday, Facebook users can help the youth program benefit from Bright House Networks' 12 Days of Giving, by sharing pictures of canned and boxed foods.

A youth group that collects food for distribution to needy families in Farmington and Farmington Hills is asking Facebook users to "share" a little during a Bright House Networks Facebook charity drive this weekend.

During the 12 Days of Giving, Bright House Networks will post a different picture of a much needed item on its Facebook company profile page. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, those pictures represent canned and boxed foods that will be donated to the City of Farmington Hills After School Program.

"In turn, we will help those truly struggling in our community," program director Todd Lipa wrote in a flyer that promotes the effort. "Some of the organizations that will receive these food donations are: St. Al’s (Servant Church of St. Alexander) food pantry, Neighborhood House, FPS Backpack Program and others."

Each time the photos are shared, Bright House Networks will donate the item – so the more times a photo is shared, the more items will be collected for local families.

The organization with the most shares at the end of the 12 days will receive an additional $10,000 donation.
