Farmington Hills Law Firm Offers Free Car Seat Safety Checks

Inspections are free and offered during National Child Passenger Safety Week.

Car crashes are a leading killer of children 1 to 12 years old in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. But attorney Steven M. Gursten, head of Farmington Hills-based Michigan Auto Law says parents can protect their kids by putting them in the right car seat and making sure it's installed properly.

During National Child Passenger Safety Week, which starts Sept. 15, Michigan Auto Law is offering free child safety seat inspections and installations to the public, by appointment, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 30101 Northwestern Highway in Farmington Hills

Michigan Auto Law's car seat safety technician is certified by SafeKids Worldwide, and has successfully completed the National Child Passenger Safety Certification Training Program.

"There are so many car seat types and models, it's tough to figure out which one is right for your child," Gursten said. "But the right car seat or booster fits your child and your car and will help your child ride as safely as possible. Stop by our office and we will help install your car seat, or make sure it's properly secured. We're here to give you peace of mind and answer any questions you may have about child safety."
